About Hank
Hank began his sewing industry career as a production manager at the New York office of F. Jacobson and Sons.
Later, he was asked to relocate to their Excello Shirt plant in Seymour, Indiana and start as a line supervisor. Working his way up to assistant plant manager, he became very familiar with the then popular progressive bundle system.
At his next position, as plant manager for a manufacturer of consumer laundry aids, he was introduced to lean thinking and team-sewing.
Having had extensive hands-on experience with both progressive bundle and lean manufacturing systems, Hank understands the intricacies of both. This unique experience convinced him of the benefits of lean. His experience with Lean Manufacturing goes back over 20 years and includes:
Hank has worked with sewing manufacturers of apparel, cushions, body armor, mattresses, novelty items, military gear, and housewares. He has also helped hard goods manufacturers of ironing boards, laundry aids, and automobile headrests.
Hank and the Sew Lean Company look forward to working with your team. Let's talk.
Sewing Manufacturers' Experiences with Hank
"Hank Olszewski has been a tremendous help with our transformation from individual incentive to Self Managed Teams. His knowledge combined with his personality has allowed us to progress very effectively in the on-floor implementation of the classroom team training.
He has built a trust with the associates and management that has resulted in a successful application which has lowered costs while increasing quality and productivity.
I would advise anyone that is looking for a consultant that provides leadership, communication, and results to call Hank."
-DanTeel, Brooks Brothers Plant Manager - June 16, 2011
“My experience with Hank was exceptional. He has the ability to come into a manufacturing setting and identify issues and opportunities which had been overlooked in day to day operations. His gentle demeanor is non-threatening to staff members and there is no question his expertise helped us become a more efficient operation. I am grateful for the work he has done and would not hesitate to employ his services in the
future.”

"Hank has a strong hands-on background in manufacturing operations which include: shop floor production, material and inventory control, plant profitability, and implementing effective change programs that improve operations. Although Hank’s primary area of expertise is in the textile industry, he has the ability to work with people and form teams that will solve problems and implement change in any organization.
He can train personnel on how to use lean manufacturing to benefit the company’s operations.
I highly recommend Hank."
